01 Aug 1782    FAYETTE (Ky.) became part of Kentucky District, a special judicial district created to serve Virginians living west of the Allegheny Mountains. Its extent was described only in terms of the counties it encompassed. This District became the state of Kentucky in 1792. (Hening, 11:85)
